Hello all,
So it seems a lot of people don't know how to do basic makeup and I was really surprised! I mean there are tones of blogs and videos on it, so why do people still feel like they don't know how to do it? I'm sort of ranting but it was because I was telling my friend that I had started a blog and well naturally she asked me whats it about and I didn't really know what to say; I mean I'm just sharing my experiences but lately it has been about makeup, so I guess its a makeup blog at the moment. :D
Anyway back to the topic, makeup! My friend is considerably older than me and she was telling me that she still doesn't really know how to do basic makeup and I was like :O how is that possible???????? I mean her mum is one of those uber cool kids back in the day, and she still wears makeup, do they not talk about that kinda of stuff? Actually, my mum didn't really tell me about makeup but she told enough for me to start and I was able to learn more from that. I think that was because my sister went all crazy with makeup, like gothy one day and super bright and colourful the next and well I think she got scared that it would ruin her faceand didn't want me to do the same.
Anyway I just wanted to tell you guys who are starting out in makeup that its easy!!! Just do it and you'll love it ;) There are tone of stuff out there, its calling out for you!
BUT as the title suggests rules are meant to be broken! (not all of them obvs) When I first started I thought the more the better, this was during my early teens years when everyone was starting to use makeup and well thinking about it now most of those girls had teenage acne that's probably why they has so much on! I'm gonna be a bit vain and say that I had quite good skin and didn't really get spots (^^). But any way my personal advise it "less is more" don't put layers and layers of makeup on just because everyone else is doing it. Majority of times people who wears lots of makeup has something to hide! If you have good skin and still want to fit in with the uber made up girls just use light layers, you'll be surprised how many of those light layers you can use to totally change your appearance!
The other thing is at one point I had acrylic nails and when I was putting on foundation by hand the foundation would get stuck there and I couldn't remove it later so use brushes! It more hygienic that way. That was for the ladies who have acrylic nails or fake nails.
BUT don't just stick to what the labels say, OK it might say its a powder brush but it doesn't mean that you can't use it put foundation on as well. The world is your oyster! Go wild and find out what works for you!
Oh by no means am I saying I'm a pro at this, I'm just passing on what I know.
OK a bit of dos and don't
Do follow the 'less is more' is one rule!
Do have fun and play! Experiment and find what you like!
Don't: I know I said that the world is your oyster but that kinda applies to a certain point, I mean everyone's different so not all products will work for you and they often don't always work in the same way.
Don't: I don't want to say that your ethnic matters, but it does! There are colours that will work and won't work depending on your skin tones, like with me I can't use greens or yellows and some blues.
This was quite a long post and full of writing sorry, but I hope it helps though! Comment if you have any questions, I know I didn't really go into a lot of details so ask me and I'll see if I can answer it.
Well until next time.
xoxo
